What are the symptoms?

This can range from difficulty stopping yourself from passing wind to having accidents from the back passage like loss of liquid, stools or smears.

Experiencing this is called faecal incontinence, and can have a massive impact on your quality of life and the way you live.

What are the causes?

  • Pelvic floor and sphincter muscle weakness or wasting
  • Neurological conditions
  • Bowel or other pelvic surgery
