Due to hygiene, we aim to be a cash-free clinic and prefer not to handle cash payments and accept all major credit cards/debit cards/Amex and online payments.
We will, however, not decline any cash payments if a patient only has cash as an option.

We have HiCaps facilities available for your convenience. HiCaps accepts all major health funds. Please bring your health fund card on the day of your appointment in order for us to process your refund.

All health funds rebate differently and we would recommend discussing benefits with your fund. Our reception team can supply the Item Numbers relating to the service to assist you with these discussions. Alternatively you can enquire with your health fund as to what rebate you will receive on:

  • Physiotherapy initial consult (code 500)
  • Physiotherapy follow up consult (code 505)
  • Group Exercise Rehabilitation (code 560)

Body Sense Physiotherapy is a private clinic and we accept all health funds. We decided to opt out of being a preferred provider to any one individual fund, to honour all of our clients’ health fund choices.

Medicare covers Physiotherapy only when a patient has received a multidisciplinary Allied Health Care Plan from a General Practitioner. This Care Plan will allow the patient up to 5 visits per year with a rebate of $58 per consultation.

We do not bulk bill. We accept the Allied Health/Medicare referral from your GP and charge a gap fee.

We understand that your time is valuable but should you wish to cancel your appointment, we ask that you give us 24 hours notice so we can offer patients on our waiting list the opportunity to book.

Your healthcare is our main priority and we believe our fees and services are structured to ensure that our patients can be treated with peace of mind.

Our consultation times are longer than what most other practices offer. This is part of our treatment philosophy to ensure that we spend adequate time to listen to your story, conduct a thorough examination and provide you with a practical treatment plan going forward.

Patients experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to talk to their treating physiotherapist or practice manager for payment and treatment options, to ensure they receive the care they need and deserve at Body Sense Physiotherapy.

Most of our initial consultations are 1 hour in duration but this can be changed to 45min upon request.

Should you feel anxious or nervous about your appointment, please contact our friendly reception staff to set up a call between you and the physiotherapist to discuss any of your concerns and to set your mind at ease.

To save time, you are welcome to complete the following document at home or alternately, arrive 10 minutes earlier to complete all paperwork.

During your first assessment, Dr Michelle Du Plessis, our Specialist Physiotherapist takes the time to listen to your story to get an in-depth understanding of your problem. Sharing your expectations of the session and your health goals with Michelle, will help to guide your assessment and treatment plan.
A thorough examination follows this, it is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing for this.
At the end of examination, Michelle will discuss her findings with you, answer any questions you might have and recommend treatment options and a management plan for you.

Specialist physiotherapists at Body Sense Physiotherapy frequently provide second opinions as part of our services.

As a specialist physiotherapist Michelle works slightly differently than other physiotherapists or senior physiotherapists.

Your Initial assessment is 1 hour in duration. You may then be rebooked for a follow-up appointment with Michelle and this will be for 30 minutes.

If after your second appointment Michelle feels further treatment is needed, she will refer you to one of our senior physiotherapists or if you have another physiotherapist Michelle would gladly communicate her findings and treatment recommendations with them.
